Oakwood Technology Group takes its social and environmental responsibility very seriously. We support a number of valuable charities, as well as ensure our business is proactive in promoting environmental benefits. We aim not only to imprint a respected footprint but also establish a respectable legacy as a business within our local communities.
Environmental issues now assume central prominence in the design and implementation of building services. The government estimates buildings are responsible for over 50% of the UK’s energy consumption and carbon emissions and wants to improve the energy efficiency of our buildings. At Oakwood we are enthusiastic partners in this process, having been actively involved in energy conservation for over two decades.
In may 2014, Oakwood sponsored a new venture for the club, including a three day trip on a specially modified ‘tall ship’ – The Lord Nelson – which has been equipped to allow people of all physical abilities to sail as crew, side by side, on equal terms. It seemed the perfect way to help members gain confidence, develop social and physical skills, maintain their health and, most importantly, make friends and have fun!
In late 2014, Oakwood took on sponsorship of the premier lacrosse club in the South of England, providing the team with Oakwood/Mitsubishi branded playing kits.
